{"id":286,"date":"2016-09-08T02:25:02","date_gmt":"2016-09-08T02:25:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.isucomm.iastate.edu\/ecole\/?page_id=286"},"modified":"2016-09-20T14:02:22","modified_gmt":"2016-09-20T14:02:22","slug":"work-experience","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.isucomm.iastate.edu\/ecole\/work-experience\/","title":{"rendered":"Work Experience"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong>Burns &amp;\u00a0McDonnell &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong>Summer 2016<\/h3>\n<p>At Burns &amp; McDonnell I was member of the Energy division in the Instrumentation and Controls group.\u00a0While at Burns &amp; McDonnell I:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Developed graphics for power plant operators to interface with plant operations<\/li>\n<li>Created instrumentation lists for procurement and installation of plant instruments<\/li>\n<li>Reviewed electrical cable routes and connection diagrams<\/li>\n<li>Assisted in planning and hosting division wide social events<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong style=\"line-height: 1.5\">MidAmerican Energy &#8211; <\/strong>Summer 2015<\/h3>\n<p>At MidAmerican I worked out of the Des Moines Walnut Ridge distribution office. \u00a0During my summer at MidAmerican I:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assessed repair work needs of distribution equipment and submitted maintenance requests for jobs under $100,000<\/li>\n<li>Assisted in ensuring communication lines were in compliance with state and federal laws<\/li>\n<li>Reviewed transformer oil containment plans<\/li>\n<li>Used thermal imaging to determine when distribution equipment would fail<\/li>\n<li>Flagged new cable routes in the field<\/li>\n<li>Performed Arc Flash Calculations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>\u00a0<strong>Wesley Woods Church Camp &#8211; <\/strong>Summer 2014<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Camp Wesley Woods is a Methodist church camp located just south of Indianola Iowa. Camp taught me how to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Collaborate with fellow counselors to make camp enjoyable for campers<\/li>\n<li>Plan and lead camp activities for groups of third through sixth graders<\/li>\n<li>Safety facilitate a high ropes obstacle course<\/li>\n<li>Responsibly watch and protect swimming campers as a lifeguard.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Thrasher Service and\u00a0Re-Bath of Central Iowa &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong>Summer 2011-2013<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Thrasher Service and Re-Bath are two companies that work together to provide plumbing and bath remodeling services in Des Moines.
