Burns & McDonnell – Summer 2016

At Burns & McDonnell I was member of the Energy division in the Instrumentation and Controls group. While at Burns & McDonnell I:

• Developed graphics for power plant operators to interface with plant operations
• Created instrumentation lists for procurement and installation of plant instruments
• Reviewed electrical cable routes and connection diagrams
• Assisted in planning and hosting division wide social events

MidAmerican Energy – Summer 2015

At MidAmerican I worked out of the Des Moines Walnut Ridge distribution office.  During my summer at MidAmerican I:

• Assessed repair work needs of distribution equipment and submitted maintenance requests for jobs under $100,000
• Assisted in ensuring communication lines were in compliance with state and federal laws
• Reviewed transformer oil containment plans
• Used thermal imaging to determine when distribution equipment would fail
• Flagged new cable routes in the field
• Performed Arc Flash Calculations

 Wesley Woods Church Camp – Summer 2014

Camp Wesley Woods is a Methodist church camp located just south of Indianola Iowa. Camp taught me how to:

• Collaborate with fellow counselors to make camp enjoyable for campers
• Plan and lead camp activities for groups of third through sixth graders
• Safety facilitate a high ropes obstacle course
• Responsibly watch and protect swimming campers as a lifeguard.

Thrasher Service and Re-Bath of Central Iowa – Summer 2011-2013

Thrasher Service and Re-Bath are two companies that work together to provide plumbing and bath remodeling services in Des Moines. While working for the Thrasher Service and Re-Bath I:

• Assisted in removal, delivery, and installation of tubs, showers, HVAC systems, water heaters, and various other general plumbing equipment.
• Recieved and verifided orders for shop inventory
• Cleaned and organized general shop storage
